I received the results from the high school WMEA All-State auditions today – Congratulations to Senior Alexis Pamatz for his acceptance to this year’s honor festival! He will be travelling to Spokane over Presidents Day weekend to perform with other students from all over Washington. This is Alexis’s third year participating in All-State – he is now tied for the school record! Alexis auditioned as a Bass 2, the lowest of all voice parts.
In addition to the individual honor, the high school band has been invited to perform at the NafME Northwest Division Conference, held simultaneously with the All-State festival. We will be performing for teachers and other music professionals from Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, and Nevada. Typically, this performance is something that we would need to audition for. However, our band received an invitation based on the recommendation of the WMEA Board. It is a high honor to represent excellence in small school music.
Congratulations Alexis!
In additional news Matthew Pulsifer was able to play with an All Star band.
Matthew was at the University of Montana last weekend for their All-Star honor band. The other night, he played with their band at their football game vs. UC Davis. Their culminating concert was at 11:00 am this morning. He is in the "Silver" band. Here is a link if you'd like to see the concert:
