ASB

Elementary Associated Student Body

Associated Student Body (ASB) is an opportunity for elementary students to become involved with leadership. Students are elected in the fall for the school-wide offices of President, Vice-President, Secretary, Treasurer and Class Representatives.

Leadership opportunities (classroom representatives) are also available for grades 3 - 5. These officers meet monthly to discuss and plan school activities. For example: Free Friday, crazy hair day, theme based dress up and more. In order to reach ASB goals, fundraisers are conducted throughout the year.

(1) Each school district that has an associated student body program fund must publish the following information about the fund on its web site:

  • The fund balance at the beginning of the school year;

  • Summary data about expenditures and revenues occurring over the course of the school year; and

  • The fund balance at the end of the school year.

(2) The information under this section must be published for each associated student body of the district and each account within the associated student body program fund.

(3) If the school district web site contains separate web sites for schools in the district, the information under thvvvis section must be published on the web site of the applicable school of the associated student body.

(4) School districts must add updated annual information to their web sites by each August 31st, except that school districts are only required to maintain the information on the web site from the previous five years.

As mandated by Washington State law (RCW 28A.325), the Associated Student Body (ASB) fund at the elementary level operates with transparency to ensure all financial transactions are clear and accessible. The ASB fund balance at the start of the year provides a baseline for supporting student-led activities and projects. Throughout the year, we track a summary of both expenditures, which fund school events, clubs, and other student-driven initiatives, and revenues, which are typically raised through student activities and fundraisers.
