Levy Volunteer Opportunities

BSD seeks "For" and "Against" Statement Authors, for the February 2024 Educational Programs and Operations Replacement Levy.

The Brewster School District is seeking persons interested in helping write a Voters' Pamphlet statement supporting or opposing a Brewster School District Educational Programs and Operations Replacement Levy measure that will appear on the February 13, 2024, Special Election ballot.

State law (RCW 29A.32.280) requires that the district seek persons who want to represent the "For" and "Against" committees in the official election voters’ pamphlet. The law states in part that for each measure from a unit of local government that is included in a local voters’ pamphlet, the legislative authority of that jurisdiction “shall formally appoint a committee to prepare arguments advocating voters’ approval of the measure and shall formally appoint a committee to prepare arguments advocating voters’ rejection of the measure.”

Each committee shall have not more than three members; however, a committee may seek the advice of any person or persons. Each committee will be asked to submit a 100-word statement by December 22, 2023.

If interested in being considered by the district for appointment to either committee-
